Accreditation

An accreditation program has long been recognized as a means of maintaining the highest standards of professionalism. Accreditation is the certification by a Commission, established by the Florida Association of Mounted Patrols, that a mounted law enforcement entity or civilian equestrian support organization of a law enforcement agency has met specific requirements and prescribed standards. Schools, universities, and hospitals are some of the most well known organizations that are required to maintain accreditation. Now, Florida mounted law enforcement units and civilian equestrian support organizations can attain accredited status through the Florida Association of Mounted Patrols.

Selected standards will be provided to the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation (CFA) for their consideration to incorporate into their manual of standards applicable to Florida law enforcement agencies with mounted units and/or civilian equestrian support organizations.
